misserella: realcleverscience: Think for yourself. It makes for good science, good humans, and a more interesting society. Also, kinda blows my mind to think of how many visionaries and potential world changers endured and/or succumbed to narrow-minded criticism from society. Scientists, artists, intellectuals of all sorts, but also those who saw things differently for other aspects of life, like rights for blacks, women, and LGBTQ, or even the first person who thought, “hey, y’know what, I’m gonna drink cow’s milk!” It really makes you marvel and appreciate the struggle and determination of those brave individuals - and is also deeply saddening to think how many great ideas and people were lost.
